ELSA win Bishnupur District Level Football Tourney

Imphal, February 22 2018: The Bishnupur District Level Football Tournament organised by Sendra Battalion of Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division for the local clubs of Bishnupur district concluded at Moirang Multi Purpose Higher Secondary School football ground on February 19 with ELSA as the winners.

A total of 16 clubs participated in the keenly contested matches throughout the tournament which witnessed emergence of many new talents as per the local football observers.

In the final match Ereima Lamaba Sporting Association (ELSA), Naran Sena overcame the challenge of KYC by a margin of 5-4 goals via a tie breaker after the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

ELSA team went home richer by Rs 40,000 as prize money and KYC had to be contented with Rs 20,000.Besides the winners and the runners up teams, all the participating teams were also awarded with cash prizes as per their positions in the tournament to encourage the players, said a press note issued by PIB (DW) .
