Arunachal Pradesh awards Dr K Romeo Meetei

Imphal, February 22 2015:
Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Arunachal Pradesh Adventure Cell In-Charge Dr K Romeo Meetei has been awarded a gold medal, the highest State award for Arunachal Pradesh for his excellent service rendered for the promotion of adventure sports and mountaineering in the State.
The award was presented by the Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma on February 20 at IG Park, Itanagar.

The ceremony was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as chief guest.
Dr Meetei had been conferred the State Excellence Award in 2012 .
He also led the Arunachal team in the Mt Everest Expedition in 2011 which made history by producing two Arunachal women everesters Tine Mena and Anshu Jamsenpa who scaled Mt Everest twice in a span of 10 days, informed a statement issued by Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
