KIWT 2021: Slender win for Ward No 1 in U-15 football

Kangpokpi, January 22 2021: Ward No 1 opened its account with a narrow 1-0 win over Ward No 11 in Under-15 football in the ongoing 17th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2021 at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi this morning.

It was Thingminkai's early 8th minute goal that gave Ward No 1 U-15 boys their first win in their first match of the tournament.

In main football, Ward No 5&6 earned an easy 3-0 win over 9 men Ward No 3 courtesy of Karan Pradhan (12') and Henjaithang (55', 76') .

Later, Ward No 13 were awarded a walkover as their rivals Ward No 11 (A) failed to turn up for the main football's second match.

In veteran football, Ward No 14 thumped Ward No 5&6 by 5-0 margin.

Lamminhao did the star turn in this match for the winning side pumping in four goals alone (4', 6', 54', 61') .

The other goal was scored by Sehthang (14') .

In another veteran match, Ward No 2 sealed a 2-0 win over Ward No 8 to register a berth in the knock-out stage.

Seiminthang opened up the scoring in the 50th minute after a barren first half before Lallen struck the final nail two minutes later.

In men's volleyball, Ward No 9 defeated Ward No 17 as Ward No 3 beat Ward No 14 .

In women's volleyball, Ward No 8 (B) defeated Ward No 17 before Ward No 13 downed Ward No 4 .
