State's MMA Fitness Academy opened at Konung Mamang

Imphal, July 20 2022: A Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) academy called Team Bonjovi MMA Fitness Academy was opened on Wednesday.

The academy occupies the fourth and fifth floors of a building next to Bazar India retail store at Konung Mamang.

The opening event was attended by Uripok AC MLA Khwairakpam Raghumani Singh, who is also the chairman of the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency.

According to the MLA.

MMA is an excellent sport that combines all forms of martial arts but it is relatively new in Manipur.

It will be extremely beneficial to the youths of the state and will assist them in finding the correct path, given the rising number of problems in the state, he added.

" It is academic training for MMA fighter as well as fitness which is quite different from gym.

In addition to emphasising Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) .

the academy focuses on health and fitness and is enormously beneficial to ladies learning self-defence.

The squad consists of fighters th at have the capacity to compete internationally and is aiming for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)," according a release of the MMA academy.

In the meantime, the academy invited intending applicants for enrolling in the training programme.
