11th Jadonang Memorial : Namching script narrow win against Gaijinlong

Imphal, November 19 2017: Namching beat Gaijinlong byanarrow 1-0 margin while three other matches ended in draws in today's league matches of the ongoing 11th Jadonang Memorial Football tournament which is organised by Zeliangrong Football Association at Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) ground.

The first match between Longmai and Namkaolong ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Ganreilung Gonmei put ahead Namkaolong the 1-0 lead when he found the back of the net in the 24th minute of the match.

It was in the last minute of the first half that Languangrei of Longmai restored parity.

The second half saw some short runs from either teams but could not break the deadlock till the final whistle.

In the second match, Namching secured a narrow victory in a hard fought match against Gaijinlong.

Both teams were evenly match and could not open up their account in the first half.

After their breather, Namching put on more pressure in the forward which proved fruitful when Rejoiceson Kamei found a crack in the rival's defence line and struck home the ball in the 59th minute.

The later part saw Gaijinlong trying to equalise but ended without much result.

The first league match of the evening session between Chingkhulong and Kalalong also ended in a 1-1 draw.

P Meilong of Kalalong struck the opener in the 36th minute of the match to lead the first half 1-0.After the break, Chingkhulong struggled hard to restore parity while Kalalong were also trying to extend their lead.

Hopeson Kamei of Chingkhulong finally brought the equaliser in the 60th minute which remained unchanged till full time.

The fourth match of the day between Thuizang and Langthabal Chingthak ended in a goalless draw.

Namdunlong will face Pantilong tomorrow at 7 am while Tarung will take on Sawombung at 8.30 am.

In the evening session, Dimdaijang will play Chinikon at 1 pm and Keishamthong will clash with Ragailong at 2.30 pm.
