CHIKL edge past SFC 3-2 in IW Super Divn League

Imphal, August 19 2022: CHIKL, Lilong Chajing rode on Indrajit's double to edge past SFC, Tera3-2 in the 6th match of the ongoing 22nd S Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament at SKYC ground, Awang Sekmai today.

The two sides started the game cautiously and were on equal time for a major portion of the game but a last gasp goal helped the Lilong side to grab the second win in three matches.

It was I Indrajit who broke the deadlock in the 10th minute of the match but SFC fought back and pulled level in the 40th minute with A Bipin hitting the equaliser.

After the break, SFC looked to dominate the possession and went ahead thanks to a brilliant strike from Th Kipgen in the 52nd minute.

Undaunted by the lead, CHIKL too played well and created chances whenever they could and eventually came to level terms in the 78th minute as I Indrajit connected well to clean pass and banged home the equaliser.

The two sides almost ended up sharing a point each as the defence line on both the ends stonewalled all the bids to breakthrough but N Alex scored deep into the stoppage time (90+5') to give SFC a heartbreak at the end.
