Chandel DSA League Hnahringkhu, Changning advance into QFs

Hnahringkhu Youth Club (HYC) and Changning Youth Club (CYC) entered the quarter-finals of the ongoing Chandel DSA League cum Knock Out, today at Maha Union Government HSS Ground.
In the first match today, Hnahringkhu Youth Club (HYC) downed United Lamkhang Football Club (ULFC) by a margin of 3 goals to two.
The match began with Wangpaul scoring a brace in the 7th and 16th minute to give HYC a comfortable 2-0 lead.
However, Alex of ULFC pulled back a goal in the 27th minute.
Minutes later, HYC's Luby slammed home in the 35th minute to make the scoreline 3-1 in the first half.
After the breather, ULFC fought back to come back into the match.
ULFC player Shetngam managed to pull back a goal in the 62nd minute but his side failed to find the equaliser in the normal time.
In another match today, a late strike from Ngamsherung in the last minute helped Changning Youth Club (CYC) to edge past New Wangparal (NW) by a margin of 3 goals to two.
The match began with an early goal from Sonam of NW in the 2nd minute.
However, Ngamsherung of CYC quickly slammed home the equaliser in the 5th minute.
With one goal each in the first five minutes of the play, both teams fought hard looking for more goals.
Minutes later, New Wangparal took the lead after Gladness struck home in the 18th minute.
The Changning players did not lose hope and fought back till Samuel banged in the equaliser for CYC in the 42nd minute making the scoreline 2-2 in the first half.
After the breather, both teams went on atttacking modes but could not break the margin as the respective defenders did well enough to thwart all the attacks.
In the midst, Ngamsherung beat the Wangparal wall and scored the winning goal in the last minute of the match.
The first quarter-final match will be played between Hnahringkhu Youth Club and Riverlane Youth Club at 12.30 pm on August 21 while in the second quarter-final United Lamkang Football Club will clash with Komlathabi Development Club at 2.30 on the same day.
