Ukhrul, May 19 2019: Yarkhok United Football Club celebrated Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Football Day today at Mission Ground, Ukhrul.

Over 59 grassroots players participated in the celebration which was marked by workshop on Basic Movement & (Skills) Control, shooting, passing, fun games, dribbling and football matches.

Mentor, Zingyat Shaiza encouraged the grassroots players to dedicate equally in sporting and academic activities in order to achieve higher during the event.

Witnessing the positive result of the celebration, a parent of one trainee Shanmila urged the football club to organise more grassroots program and festivals in the coming days to enhance football skills to the kids of the region.

AFC Grassroots Day is celebrated every year on May 15 with the aim of promoting grassroots football and the theme for this year is "Let's Play" .

The programme was attended by President and Secretary of Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA), parents of trainees and wellwishers.
