9th MNCA Plate Tournament : NCA go atop Group B with third win, THAU end three game losing streak

NCA, Ningthoukhong went on top of Group B table in the ongoing 9th MNC A Plate Tournament as they defeated YAC, Yaiskul by 95 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground for the third straight victory after their opening game loss.
Angom Robinhood clobbered 13 fours and 1 six off 78 balls on the way to his unbeaten 98 and RK Roj eeson scored 35 to help NCA raise a commanding total of 236/7 in 35 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
L Sadananda then broke the back of YAC's middle order by removing five of them (5/21) after Amarjeet Rajkumar (2/16) removed both the openers to set up the collapse at 141 in 26.5 overs.
Huidrom Guneshwor (4/35) and Abocha Laishram (2/ 60) shared 6 wickets for YAC earlier before Indrakumar 35, Abocha Laishram 24 emerged the main run getters in the chase.
L Sadananda of NCA who was key in setting up YAC collapse was adjudged player of the match.
The result lifted NCA to top of Group B on 6 points above KSDO who are also unbeaten in three games.
The day also saw THAU, Thangmeiband ending their three game losing streak in the Group A competition by defeating MPA, Thounaojam by 1 wicket at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
MPA opted to bat first but were bundled out for 146 runs despite Huidrom Dhanashyam's 48-ball 66 as Yungkham Ortega (4/30), Kh Romesh (3/33) and Hanjabam Joykisan (2/40) shared 9 wickets for THAU today.
THAU then rode on contributions from Khundrakpam Aden 43, Th Yoihenba 19, Hanjabam Diamond 18 and Yungkham Ortega 17 to fight their way to winning 147 in 32.4 overs.
Huidrom Dhanashyam (4/ 13) and Y Sheiteendra (2/31) were key MPA bowlers in the second innings.
Ortega who starred with both the bat and the ball was adjudged player of the match.
