PTCC, RCA script huge wins in N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy

PTCC, Patsoi and RCA, Lilong notched up emphatic wins in today's matches of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2020.In the third match of the tournament played between PTCC and CRAU at Model Higher Secondary and Oriental College Ground, PTCC posted 130 for 8 in 30 overs before holding CRAU at 70 for all wickets down in 19.3 overs and sealed the huge win.
After winning the toss, PTCC opted to bat first and it were Tanisq Sharma (30 off 28 balls) and Gung Gung (unbeaten 30 off 30 balls) who made a fine stand to ensure PTCC post a total of 130 runs.
Karnajit also registered 15 runs in his name for PTCC while other batsmen had short stay on the crease.
K Sanatomba was the best bowler CRAU had today as he bagged the highest 2 wickets off 6 overs giving 23 runs while Prakash, H Joyhenba, I Nikhil managed 1 wicket apiece before they had a nightmarish chase.
In reply, CRAU which managed a fine economy in bowling, were put under immense pressure right from the beginning and none of their batsmen could hit double digit scores as Gung Gung enjoyed a 6 wicket haul in his spell of 4.3 overs providing 17 runs.
K Sanatomba and Prakash who fetched 9 runs each were the highest scorer as other fell cheaply and most interestingly 5 of the team had to return to the stand with no score at all.
Gung Gung who gave an all round performance was eventually named man of the match.
Meanwhile in another match of the day held at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, RCA thrashed Blue Hawk Khurai by 272 runs as the former stacked up a mountain of 310 runs for 3 in 30 overs after they were led to bat first.
Irfan shone in the innings as he gathered an impressive 85 runs from 78 balls he faced before Md Imran Khan hit a ton (116 off 71 balls).
Blue Hawk had a miserable bowling performance with wide and no balls pouring in aplenty.
Majish Khan, Punsiba and Bijoykumar however managed a wicket each in this innings before they slump to only 38 runs in 10.4 overs in reply.
Manjish with 9 runs was the topscorer for the team during the chase as Pravesh of RCA bowled too well to enjoy a fifer in 5 overs.
His team mate Zahid clinched two wickets to put pressure on the Khurai side while Illiyas and Z Khan managed a wicket each to set up the huge win.
Md Imran Khan who had a tremendous outing with the bat was named man of the match.
