Imphal, January 17 2017: IMA FC, Irampasiphai came from behind to down AMOFA Academy (A) by 2 goals to one in the 1st H Biro and H Brojen Memorial State Level under-13 football tournament at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School ground today.

AMOFA Academy (A) shot into the lead as early as the 4th minute of the match when a well positioned Yaiphaba had little trouble in sending the ball into the far end of the net and help his team take the lead.

Stung by the early goal, IMA FC put more men on the attack and played with a purpose, raiding the territory of AMOFA occasionally with some crisp passing.

Their efforts finally paid fruits when Angamba latched onto a loose ball and after side stepping a couple of defenders of the rival team put the ball past the outstretched hands of the custodian in the 40th minute to bring his team back into the match.

After the lemon break, IMA FC put up with their free and flowing game and managed to enter the penalty area of AMOFA (A) .

A lurking Gogocha managed to latch onto the ball and let loose a power packed shot that beat the custodian of the rival team to help his team win the match by a margin of 2-1 goal in the 50th minute.

In another match, Mini-Boys, Kwakta downed AMOFA Academy (B) by a margin of 3 goals to one.

Here too, AMOFA (B) went into the lead as early as the 3rd minute when Arith found the net with a well placed shot.

The players of Mini Boys however did not give up and managed to equalise one minute later when Md Sakir found the net.

Buoyed by the equaliser, Mini Boys played more aggressively and managed to pump in two more goals through Md Ayub Khan in the 11th minute and Md Ayajuddin in the 33rd minute.

In the first semi-final tomorrow, AMOFA (B) will take on IMA FC, Iramsiphai while in the second semi-final, GDC Thinungei will meet Mini Boys, Kwakta.
