IW 3rd Division League : Juvenile post 2-1 comeback win as KSYC hold ESA

Imphal, November 16 2019: Juvenile, Tera edged past ESA, Mayang Imphal by 2-1 goals to post their third win on the trot while KSYC, Hiyangthang and ESA, Mayang Imphal splits point after 1-1 draw in today's Group-A matches of the 3rd Sh Mani Sharma Memorial 3rd Division Football League-2019 being organised under the auspices of Imphal West District Football Association at KYC ground, Khurkhul.

KSYC and ESA played out a 1-1 draw in the opening match of the day as both teams failed to find the winner despite second half chances.

Hemochandra put ESA ahead in the 4th minute of the match but the team failed to sustain momentum and the score was brought to level when A Sandeepkumar made his effort count in the 24th minute for the Hiyangthang side.

Meanwhile in the second match, Juvenile, Tera came from behind to seal a 2-1 win over SYSC, Sangaithel although the two teams shared almost equal amount of possession and on goal efforts.

N Dhanachandra hit the opener for SYSC in the 8th minute and the team entered into the break with a slender lead as the Tera team saw their on goal effort go too close or wide.

Juvenile however showed an improved side after the restart and found the equaliser in the 49th minute thanks to Somesh and set up the recovery path.

It was an end to end affair latter on as both teams came out in search of the winner but Juvenile emerged to be the luckier side as they completed the turnaround with the help of Punshiba in the 58th minute.

And as SYSC failed to capitalise on late chances, Juvenile surged home 2-1 to post their third successive win and climb to pole position in Group A standings.

KAN, Kadangband will play USC, Phayeng while MSH,Uripok will meet MSC, Malom in Group-B league matches tomorrow.
