4th MCA Plate Tournament : Contrasting wins for Model Club and ESU

Today's league matches of the ongoing 4th Plate Cricket tournament, organised by Manipur Cricket Association saw Model Club, Chingamakha romp to a huge 225 run victory against YAC, Yaiskul at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium while ESU, Wangkhei posted a narrow 15 run victory over PTCC, Patsoi at Langthabal Public Ground.
Model Club's Abhishek Diwan who hit a century in the previous match against KIYC, Kshetrigao did even more better today hitting the fastest 153 runs in 62 balls and remained not out to give his team a huge 225 run victory.
His compatriot, Hrithik Kanojia, Karnajit and Viking also batted well today to post a total of an imposing 344 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 35 overs.
Hrithik blazed 44 runs off 38 balls while Karnajit and Viking struck 43 (42 balls) and 39 (32) to help their team stay in a stable position.
Jameson of YAC picked up 3 wickets in this innings.
However, his efforts to contain the strike rate went in vain.
Arnold of the same team also scalped 2 before Joychandra claimed a single wicket.
In reply, YAC bundled out for a paltry 119 runs in 32 overs as bowlers of Model Club, Iboyaima and Mangi ran ragged their batting line up.
Dinesh of YAC was the highest scorer for his team with 17 runs in his name and other batsmen had to return to the pavilion with meagre scores.
Iboyaima and Mangi of the Chingamakha side dismissed 3 wickets each while Binoykumar, Tejkumar and Dhamendra picked up one wicket each to pull down their enemy's chase considerably.
Abhishek Dinan was adjudged man of the match for his outstanding batting performance.
Elsewhere, ESU relied on bowler Herojit to register a 15 run victory against PTCC.
Electing to bat first, ESU stacked up a total of just 136 runs for 10 in 35 overs.
Herojit struck 24 runs, the highest for his team while Hemchand, Mehtul and Chitaranjan together added 47 runs in this innings.
Bowlers of PTCC were fast to take wickets with Santosh dismissing 3 wickets in 7 overs while Sadananda and Kenjit picked tip 2 wickets each.
Dominic also picked up 1 wicket in this innings.
Though the bowlers did their tasks well, the batsmen of PTCC had a dismal end even if they had a promising start.
Deepak led the batting for the Patsoi side hitting 51 runs off 66 balls but the remaining order were easy pick for the bowlers of ESU who succeeded in stopping the chase at just 121 runs.
Herojit bowled well to register 4 wickets in his name while Premananda and Chitaranjan claimed one wicket each.
Herojit was named man of the match.
