2nd Hanif Shah Football : SU blank LFC 4-0, HESU edge past UMFC

Imphal, January 15 2019: SU, Singa drubbed LFC, Lilong 4-0 in a very one sided match to go on top of Group A while HESU, Heitroipokpi pulled off a hard-fought 3-2 win against UMFC, Moijing in a Group B league match of the ongoing 2nd Hanif Shah State Level Manipur Muslim Football Tournament, 2019 hosted by SIC and YPC under the aegis of AMMOCOC at Singa playground, Yairipok.

SU's Md Farid Khan was in prolific form today as he scored twice including the opener and the finisher to complete the 4-0 rout of LFC and earn his team's second win in the league stage.

Md Farid hit the opener in the 31st minute for SU to lead the game 1-0 in the first half while Md Sahidur got his name on the scoresheet in the 40th minute to make it 2-0.SU went on for more as the Lilong side were hardly resisting them and it was in the 55th minute that Md Riyas Khan fired in the third before Md Farid Khan claimed his second and the team's last in the 60th minute.

The Group B league match was an exciting affair as HESU held off late charges to pull off a 3-2 win.

UFC opened up the scoring early in the second minute through Md Alique Shaha only to be equalised by Km Yusuf of HESU.

Md Salman Khurshid broke the deadlock the very next minute and handed a 2-1 lead before MV Nawaj Khan of UFC levelled the scoreline in the 17th minute.

After spending the first half in a 2-2 draw, both teams made every possible moves to find the lead but it was in the 45th minute that Km Yusuf earned the winner.
