Lunminthang's brace propels SU into LS Trophy quarter finals

Kangpokpi, September 14 2022: Sagolband United had a comfortable 4-0 win over Football Club Gorkha XI Manipur to ease into the last 8 stage of the ongoing LS Trophy at Brig M Thomas ground in Kangpokpi.

Lunminthang scored a brace (20', 49') in Sagolband United's 4-0 win as Shunjanthan and Adison netted a goal apiece in the 29th and 79th minutes.

The last pre-quarterfinal league match between Satkhohen and Sumkhomang Memorial Team (SSMT) and TYPOM Maohing ended in a 2-2 draw.

Lenboilun (15') and Lenminlal (71') scored for SSMT while Kaikam (33') and Kamminlun (79') scored for TYPOM Maohing.

The draw was however more than enough for SSMT to seal a quarterfinal berth.

The day also saw resumption of the YOSC-Khurai vs Taphou FC match which was stalled after an on field altercation.

The matches ended in a 3-3 draw and YOSC-Khurai made it to the quarter final with the result.

Thangkhanlen (12'), Sehthang (22') and Lunginthang (27') scored for Taphou FC in the match while Changwung S (1'), and K Aboton Singh (61') and Ibotomba (77' penalty) scored for the Khurai team.

Tomorrow, in the first quarterfinal, KLASA-Keinou will play the Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA) before KSC take on SSMT in the second quarter final match.
