Assam Rifles organises '75th Independence Day volleyball tournament' at Nungba

Noney, August 14 2021: Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organised "75th Independence Day Volleyball Tpurnament" from August 13 to 14 .

The Battalion also provided sports items at Nungba Part-I village under the Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

The tournament was organised to spread awareness among the youth about the importance of physical and mental fitness as both are ingredients of a healthy lifestyle and play a crucial role in overall development of an individual in all spheres of life.

To enhance the physical fitness and foster the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the youth and to promote "Khelo India Campaign", the Battalion assisted the locals to organise the Volleyball tournament at Nungba Youth Centre.

The aid was aimed at instilling a healthy competitive spirit in locals so as to prevent them from digressing on the path of illegal practices.

A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament.
