Satish to receive Footballer of the Year Award

Imphal, January 13 2015: Kh Satish, striker of NEROCA club has been chosen for conferring the honorable men's Footballer of the Year Award 2014 constituted in memory of late Elangbam Ibohal who had dedicated half of his life for improvement of the game of football in the State.

The award which carries a cash prize of Rs 15, 000 will be presented to the talented footballer after the end of the final match of 58th CC Meet to be played on January 14 .

Notably, the cash amount was donated by Hueiyen Lanpao Group of Publications in remembrance of the influential contributions made by E.Ibohal towards development of football game in the State.

Apart from the cash reward, the recipient of the award will also be presented with a trophy by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) .

The award was constituted in 1995 by family of E.Ibohal who was born on January 20, 1931 at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai.

He was the first FIFA referee from the State.

Late E. Ibohal had also served as Honorary Secretary of AMFA.

Representing India, he had taken part both as a player and official in many international tournaments held in different parts of foreign countries.

.EIbohal breathed his last on November 10, 1994 .

Kh Satish of NEROCA has been selected for receiving the award for this year in recognition of his talented skills in the soccer play.
