Imphal, June 12 2024: THAU, Thangmeiband rode on Thoudam Niruta and Keisham Kalpana to overwhelm PTCC, Patsoi Part III by 129 runs for their fifth win in the 3rd MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2023-24 .

The fifth win at their own homeground further cemented their position on top of the league table and assured themselves of the final ticket in the 7-team tournament with a match left to spare.

THAU elected to bat first this morning after winning the toss and rode on a century from Keisham Kalpana (113 off 122 balls; 14 fours) and contributions from Niruta (30 off 33 balls) and Brahmacharimayum Seterny (22 off 29 balls) to post an innings total of 210 runs for 7 wickets in 35 overs.

Chasing the big total, PTCC succumbed to 81 all out in 24.4 overs as Niruta Thoudam ran through their batting line up on the way to her haul of six wickets (6/16 in 5.4 overs that contained two maidens) with the assistance of H Kiranbala, Kh Bunty and N Sophiya who shared three wickets among them.

Only Niruka 18, Laishram Teresa 17 and Laishram Bigyapati 13 were able to register double digit figures for the Patsoi team as five batters departed on duck.

Earlier in the THAU innings, Laishram Bigyapati (3/32 in 6 overs) and Bandana (2/28 in 4 overs) of PTCC shared five wickets between them while Kh Anjali managed a wicket.

Niruta who starred with both the bat and ball was eventually adjudged player of the match.

FORCE will play Al-Ameen in the next match tomorrow.
