FIFA & AIFF officials visit Mizoram

F�d�ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and All India Football Federation (AIFF) officials are in Aizawl on a 3-day visit in connection with the Pilot Project of AIFF in which Mizoram has been included owing to its progress in football during the last three to four years.
AIFF has launched a Pilot Project under which it takes steps for the development of the 6 States in the country who are to host FIFA Under 17 World Cup 2017. The visiting FIFA & AIFF officials on Tuesday held interaction with Mizoram Football Association (MFA) President Lal Thanzara, Health Minister of the state and Mizoram Football Association Executive Committee.
Besides discussion over how Mizoram would make further progress in football and the plans ahead, review of the progress that has been made so far was also held in the meeting, at Mizoram Football Association Office, City Park here.
The visiting FIFA & AIFF officials include Shaji Prabhakaran, Development Officer, All India Football Association (AIFF); Vicent Subramaniam, Technical Director FIFA South East Asia Region; Sunando Dhar, CEO I-League and Savio Medeira, India U23 Coach.
MFA President and State Health Minister Lal Thanzara expressed gratitude over the visit paid by the honourable FIFA & AIFF officials and added that their very visit would encourage Mizoram to progress further in Football.
Shaji Prabhakaran, who chaired the meeting, highlighted the plans of AIFF which includes placing of Technical Officer and one to deal with Professional Marketing under Mizoram FA.
I-League CEO Sunando Dhar on his part said that Mizoram has a bright future in football.
It has been included in the AIFF pilot project because of its good results in recent time, he added.

Secretary Lalnghinglova Hmar spoke on the progress made by Mizoram football and the plans ahead.
He apprised the FIFA &AIFF officials of the needs of Mizoram for making progress in football.
