11th Manipur State League : USA down SU, TRAU beat NACO

Imphal, October 10 2016: USA, Khurai eased to a 2-0 win over Sagolband United (SU) while TRAU edged past NACO by a margin of two goals to one today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The match between SU and USA began on an impressive note.

Both sides struggled to make inroads to each others citadels.

However, none could make any breakthrough in the first half.

After a barren first half, both sides bounced back with more vigour in the second half.

Rambo of USA broke the deadlock in the 65th minute as his long range attempt was on target.

Jangkhokai Kilong’s goal off a corner kick in the last minute of the additional time eventually ensured full points to USA.

In another encounter, TRAU, Kwakeithel came from behind to register a thrilling 2-1 win over NACO, Nambul Mapal.

It was NACO’s Madhumangol who drew first blood as he slotted home the opener in the 21st minute.  TRAU sent more men in the attack in their frantic search for the equaliser.

However, they could not easily penetrate the NACO defence line.

TRAU were rewarded for their efforts when Nathaniel Adisa netted the equaliser off a corner kick in the first half stoppage time.

NACO players continued giving more pressure to TRAU in the second half.

However, experienced TRAU defenders denied any incursion into their domain.

N Sushil left nothing to chances a short pass from E Dayanand to slam home the winner in the 76th minute.

NACO players efforts to equalise the goal went abegging.
