GAMMA Asian MMA Champion Naorem Dinesh Singh feted

Imphal, September 10 2021: A felicitation ceremony was held today at Kakching Mayai Leikai in honour of gold and silver medallist Naorem Dinesh Singh at GAMMA Asian MMA Championship 2021 by Naorem Munal Meitei at his residence.

Addressing the gathering, N Munal Meitei spoke at length about the hardships faced by N Dinesh, who hails from Kakching Paji Leikai, in pursuing the sport of his choice due to extreme poverty.

He made an appeal to the Government to nurture young sportspersons by providing them with the required facilities and to cease heaping them with accolades post achieving laurels while not providing them with any grassroots training or opportunities.
