Chandel Veteran Football : Changning Veteran, Lamkang Brothers FC enter semifinals

Imphal, June 09 2022: The stage is set for the semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Veteran Football Tournament underway at Chandel sports complex as Changning Veteran and Lamkang Brothers FC emerged victorious in the 3rd and 4th quarterfinals matches today.

Notably, S Mohring MT and Slumber Boots have also entered the last-four stage.

In the first match of the day, Changning Veteran sealed a comfortable 3-1 against Chakpi Veteran FC .

Interestingly, the first goal of the match was netted by HL Lutharson of Chakpi Veteran FC in the 11th minute, but Changning Veteran were not weighed down by the lead and drew level the scoreline in the 23rd minute through Konthang.

After a stiff competition for about 10 minutes, Konthang scored his second goal in the 33rd minute and gave his team the much needed advantage before his teammate Phamshin struck another in the 62nd minute to ensure the victory.

The second match witnessed Lamkang Brothers FC defeat New Wangparal FC by 3-0 as the winning team struck one goal in the first half and another two in the second.

SK Bungthot opened the account for Lamkang Brothers FC in the 16th minute while his compatriots SN Dartin and Th Rengshel scored a goal each in the 59th and 65th minute.

In the first quarter final match of the tournament, SS Mohring MT thumped Unapal FC 3-0 to confirm their semi-final ticket while Slumber Boots beat The Veteran FC in a penalty shoot-out.
