Plate Tourney: KCDO extend winning run

KCDO, Kongpal defeated YWC, Patsoi by 5 wickets for the second straight Group A victory in the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament as YAC bounced back from first game defeat to beat SSU, Singjamei for the first Group B win.
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, YWC were dismissed for 153 runs in 31.4 overs by KCDO who tactfully opted to field first and chased down the target in just 17.1 overs.
Ksh Devendro (4/31 in 6.4 overs), Netajit Konsam (3/24 in 6 overs) and Tatou (2/23 in 6 overs) were clinical in their bowling effort for KCDO.
Md Ajijur Rahman 40, Bikram Phamdom 31, Devendro 20 provided KCDO a good start in the chase before Hemjit 14 and Hafiz Imran 15 finished off the chase.
For YWC, Piojit Ch 30, Thoungamba M 26 and Laikhuram Jagat 20 were the leading run getters.
Johnson Lai returned with the best bowling figures of 4/29 in 6 overs for the Patsoi side.
Devendro who starred with both the bat and the ball was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, YAC posted a modest total of 182 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 35 overs riding on Nehru Thoudam's half century (82-ball 59) and bowled out SSU for 172 runs in 33.1 overs as six bowlers including Abocha Laishram 2/40 were up to the task.
Abocha Laishram 18, Joychandra Ngangom 18, Singhajit Sharma 14 not out, Indrakumar Wayenbam 13, Pukhrambam Priyokumar 12 and Amit Singh 10 also managed small but significant scores for YAC in the innings that saw Bindeshwor Sapam (2/35) and Thoudam Rohit (2/25) sharing four wickets and four others pick a wicket apiece.
For SSU, Robertson Th scored a painstakingly slow 101-ball 60 as Bindeshwor Sapam 23, Sougrakpam Douglas and Saikhombam Thongam 16 followed suit.
Abocha Laishram who produced an allround performance was adjudged player of the match.
