Imphal, July 08 2022: Imphal East and Pherzawl joined Imphal West and Bishnupur in the semi-finals line up of the State Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament for U-17 Girls organised by Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur.

Imphal East's Free Progress Academy who have beaten Shiroy HS 9-0 in the first leg (two-team Group D league round), notched up a 6-1 win today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong to complete the sweep and earn a semi-final ticket.

Free Progress Academy were in command from the onset of the game and took a 4-1 first half lead via goals by L Riya (2'), Mangpineng (10', 32') and N Lamnganbi (16') before completing the 6-1 thrashing.

Chanchan scored the Ukhrul team's only goal in the 5th minute while the second half goals for the winning side were scored by P Priya (23') and K Anju Chanu (41') .

Free Progress Academy will play Imphal West's Wangoi HS in the first semi-final match from 9 am tomorrow.

In a Group A dead rubber match, Merilyn M goal in the 7th minute gave Maha Union Govt HS a 1-0 win over Eklavya Model Residential School, Kangpokpi. In another inconsequential Group B league match, Tuibuang Govt HS overwhelmed Don Bosco HS 23-0 courtesy 10 goals from Ruby Thie (2', 4',13', 14', 28', 31', 42', 45', 48', 49') and 8 goals from Lhingdeikim (9', 12', 17', 35', 36', 41', 44', 46') .

Esher Tin (6', 47') and Babyching (18', 30') also scored two goals apiece in this one sided encounter as Nengkhangthem netted a goal in the 26th minute.

Meanwhile in the crucial Group C league match, RK Sanatombi Vidyalaya, Jiribam and Pherzawl's Bukpi Govt HS played out a 1-1 draw in the regulation time before the winners were decided via draw of lot wherein the Pherzawl team emerged the luckier team and set up semi-final date with Madhumati Govt HS, Bishnupur.

The match starts at 7.30 am.
