MUSA win 3-1 in 5th Sangai Trophy

Imphal, April 08 2024: MUSA, Wangkhei pulled off a 3-1 win over FLAM, Yaiskul in the second match (Group D) of the 5th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship being underway at CYLC ground, Pishum.

Both the teams drew blank in the first half but MUSA went up by a goal in the 32nd minute courtesy of M Devananda's strike.

FLAM fought back and pulled level in the 54th minute through L Bikramjit but the parity did not last long as A Anand Meitei restored the lead for MUSA two minutes later before M Devananda scored his second three minutes into the stoppage time (60+3') to complete the 3-1 beating of FLAM.

Later in a Group A match, Langthabal FC rallied back to hold VSAI-Thangmeiband to a 2-2 draw.

Langthabal FC went ahead in the 15th minute with O Inaocha finding the target but VSAI drew level through L Lokesh in the 30th minute.

N Rajesh overturned the lead in VSAI's favour in the 64th minute but Langthabal FC scored through Kh Manaoba deep into the stoppage time to make it 2-2 at the end.

The tournament will resume on April 11 with KFVA, Kakching taking on IEVSA, Khongman from 2 pm and AMBA FC taking on TBSFA, Taobungkhok from 3.30 pm .
