KLASA, NISA enter pre-quarter

Amidst chaotic scene and security intervention, NISA, Thangmeiband and KLASA, Keinou entered into the pre-quarter final round of the ongoing 56th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament (CC Meet) organised by AMFA at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
KLASA, Keinou defeated AIM, Khabam Lamkhai while NISA, Thangmeiband beat SSU, Singjamei and entered pre-quarter final rounds today.
The first match today was played between KLASA, Keinou and AIM, Khabam Lamkhai.
The match began with high hopes with the players of both teams confident of winning the match.
They played the match with equal skills and tactics.
Firm determination to oust one another from the tournament to get the only berth in the next round was seen throughout the match.

Since the match was an equally fought one, it was impossible for both of them to sneak behind the defence line of their opponents and strike in goals to get their ticket into the next round.
As a result the match concluded in a goalless draw.
In the tie breaker shoot out, KLASA edged in three goals against one of AIM and entered into the pre-quarter final rounds.
The three success kicks of KLASA were taken by Th Herojit, K Nepolean and S Herojit.
On the other hand, W Ngouba only could hit the target while L Gouro, L Tana and Th Santosh missed it.
K Nepolean, T Sushil, Ch Ratan of KLASA and Kh Naoton, Y hemanta and O Surjit of AIM were issued yellow cards each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
Later, in the second match, NISA, Thangmeiband blanked SSU, Singjamei with a solitary goal which was scored in the 90th minute of the match.
The solitary goal was scored by Michael Joute from a pass of his teammate M Bijen.
Throughout the match, SSU players could not find any chance to score a single goal against their opponent and got ousted from the tournament.
L Gogocha of SSU and Th Borish, T Ajitkumar of NISA were cautioned for playing fouls during the match.
Md Sahidur Rahaman of SSU was issued red card in the 90+2 minute of the match.
Following the issuing of red card to Sahidur Rahaman, SSU players revolted against the decision of the referee and confronted referee Kh Ibungo.
The situation was about to turn to an ugly turn, when SSU players tried to assault the referee.
Sensing the incoming trouble, security personnel posted inside Mapal Kangjeibung rushed and intervened the situation.
