J Songtun Youth Club (JSYC), Sadar Hills clinched the title of the 5th Mangboi Memorial Cup football Tournament 2012 after defeating Molsang Youth Club 2-1 in the final match played today at Brig.

Thangtinlen (44th, 82nd) struck both the goals for the eventual champions, who defied a late challenge from the rival to wrest the Cup and bag top award of Rs 50,000 cheque.
Molsang Youth Club, who pulled back one through Haokam in 88th minute, had to be content with Rs 30,000 while third placed FC Khanglai and fourth placed Sahei FC, Keithelmandi were respectively awarded Rs 15,000 and Rs 5000 .
The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, and Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen as the chief guest and functional president respectively.

Joyce, wife of (Late) Mangboi while speaking at the function conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee and to all the participants, and expressed hope that the memorial tournament in the name of her beloved husband be the foundation of peace through games and sports in the society.
The tournament's best discipline team award was awarded to Chikim FC, Langol while Thangtinlen of JSYC bagged the top scorer award, for his competition tally of nine goals.
Thangtinpao of Molsang Youth Club was declared the best goalkeeper and Thangminlen of JSYC adjudged the Man of the final Match.
