Senapati, October 07 2024: Makhrelui Veteran Football Club lifted the trophy of the 2nd edition Senapati District Veteran Football Tournament, 2024 that concluded on Monday with a slender 1-0 win over Katomei Area Veteran Football Club in the final.

The tournament that had started from September 25 was organised by the Senapati District Veteran Football Association in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) witnessed a healthy participation of 19 teams from across the district.

The first half of the final match ended in a goalless draw but an early goal in the second period helped Makhrelui Veteran Football Club seal the top honour.

Makhrelui VFC's Treson, Lameo, Robert and Victor were also feted with golden boot, golden glove, man of the tournament and best defender respectively.

Israel of Katomei Area VFC was meanwhile adjudged best midfielder as T Ngouning of Oklong VFC was adjudged oldest player of the tournament.

The best discipline team award in the meantime went to Southern Naga VFC.
