Stage set for quarter finals of Shining Star Volleyball tournament

Imphal, January 07 2020: The quarter final line of the 1st State Level Village Open Volleyball Tournament being organised by Shining Star Development Association under the aegis of All Manipur Volleyball Association has been completed today with 8 teams from four groups making the cut.

MSWC, Maibam made it to quarter finals by beating YDA, Phabakchao 3-1 today.

MSWC had a tough start to the game with YDA taking the opening set but the former made an unexpected comeback to seal the game 29-31, 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 .

MSWC will meet YSCK, Khelokhong tomorrow in the last quarter final match.

LEWA, Lamding then beat KYLSC, Kachikhul in straight sets in the second match of the day (25-23, 25-22, 25-23) to set up quarter final date with LCL, Laiphrakpam which carved out a 3-2 win against SYDC.

LCL had a scrappy start and lost the first two sets before making a dramatic comeback and finished the game 23-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-19, 15-8 .

The day also saw BSA, Bengoon clinch a 3-2 victory against YPA, Hiranmei to earn a place in the quarter finals.

BSA had a stuttering start but fought back well to seal the game 18-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-8 .

BSA, Bengoon will meet YDA, Phabakchao in the third quarter final match tomorrow.
