MU Inter College Men's Best Physique Competition : L Nongthang wins overall champion title, Ng Mani College emerge overall team champions

Imphal, December 06 2024: Leimajam Nongthang of Western College, Konthoujam clinched the overall champion title as Ng Mani College, Khurai were crowned overall team champions in the N Surendra Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Best Physique (Male) Competition 2024-25.Western College finished team runners up in this competition hosted by Standard College under the aegis of the Manipur University Sports Committee was conducted by the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) at the college's auditorium hall.

As many as 27 athletes from 15 different colleges/institutes affiliated to Manipur University were in the fray for top honours in 6 different weight categories.

Sanjenbam Kunjalemba of NG College, Lamphel secured the 60 kg category title finishing ahead of Harichandra Oinam of KP College, Hiyangthang and Mutum Yaima of Thambal Marik College.

Pritam Nahakpam of Moirang College meanwhile topped the 65 kg category title as Naorem Pravin of Kha Manipur College, Kakching and Themring Shang KS of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul finished second and third.

Waikhom Mahesor of Thoubal College and Okram Nikhil of MU were placed fourth and fifth in the competition.

The 70 kg category title meanwhile went to Phandom Arun Meitei of NG Mani College, Khurai as NB College's Loitongbam Netrajit and Thambal Marik College's Nongmaithem Veloson finished second and third respectively.

Finishing fourth and fifth in the competition were Laishram Olympian Meetei and Sanathoi Nongthombam.

Thokchom Yaisana of Standard College on the other hand claimed the 75 kg category title as Ricky Hawaibam of KP College and Khagembam Rishikanta of Ng College finished second and third.

Dayananda Naorem of Standard College finished fourth in the same competition while Wangkhem Bonny of Ng College finished fifth.

Leimajam Nongthang of Western College sealed the 80 kg category title as well as the overall title.

Finishing second and third in the category were Naorem Joykumar of KP College and Yumnam Ningthungba of Regional College, Chajing.

Only one athlete, Chandam Kangleinganba Khuman of Ng Mani College registered for the 90 kg category.
