2nd CYLC State Open Basketball Championship commences

The 2nd edition of CYLC State Open Basketball Championship-2024 organised by the Chingamathak Young Learners' Club kick-started today at its basketball court with a strong participation of 11-teams clubbed into two groups and four women teams.
The tournament opened with YOSC, Khurai defeating ESU 27-26 in a hard fought girls match before CYLC-B defeated Bonthers 73-50 in the men's Group A opening match.
Esther 10 led the scoring in YOSC girls' narrow win today as Sora and Nandina picked 6 points apiece.
Tutu also added four points as Merina added two.

For ESU, Omega scored highest 12 points as Lakshmi 5, Samjota 3, Sanatombi 3, Surmita 2 and Nganthoi 1 followed suit.
Meanwhile in the men's opener (Group A), CYLC-B trailed 12-15 behind Bonthers in the first period but posted a 18-13 lead in the second period, 24-12 in the third period and 19-10 in the final period to seal the game 73-50 .
Ingocha topscored for CYLC-B with 27 points as Bungcha 17 and Nishanta 12 followed suit.
Sundar 8, Walter 3, Naoshing 2, Chinglemba 2 and Calvin 2 also found their names on the scoresheet for the winning side.
For Bonthers, David gathered the highest 26 points as Yoihen 8, Bishman 6 and Donald 4 collected 18 points and Kishore, Dravin and Nikhil scored 2 points apiece.
