The Leadership Council of Thang Ta (LCTT), Manipur has mourned over the demise of 'Oja Kangabam Shyamkishor Meitei' from Keishampat Kangabam Leikai who was advisor of the body and instrumental in Thang-Ta movements in the State.
A two minute silence was observed by the members of LCTT who also prayed for his soul to rest in peace, said a statement of LCTT.
During his lifetime, the personality had played a crucial role in reconsolidation of Thang-Ta bodies and advocated for regulation of foreign elements to help preserve the State's own culture, LCTT recalled.
He also raised the call for absorption of meritorious Thang-Ta students in security forces units for safeguarding State's boundary instead of deploying non natives and to help usher in a new and vibrant democratic State, LCCT added.
