State Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament for U-14 and U-17 Boys to begin today

Imphal, July 05 2019: The State Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament for U-14 years and U-17 boys will be held from July 6 to 13 at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal under the aegis of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports with a total of 16 teams from across different districts of Manipur clustered into 4 groups taking part in both the competitions.

U-14 Boys
Kakching Wairi H School (Kakching district), Heinoukhong R School (Tengnoupal district), The New Model English School (Thoubal) and Ahmadabad H School (Jiribam) are drawn together in Group A for the U-14 boys tournament while Tengkonjang Hr Secondary School (Noney district); Parbung Govt H Sec School (Pherzawl), Themzan Academy (Ukhrul) and Christian Grammar School (Tamenglong) are drawn in Group B .

The teams in the Group C are St Peter School (Chandel), TG English School (Bishnupur), HM English School (Churachandpur) and Kamjong H School (Kamjong district) and the teams clubbed in the Group D are Unique Model Academy (Imphal East), Mt Zion Sr Secondary School (Senapati), CT Higher Secondary School (Imphal West) and Educational Training School (Kangpokpi).

The opening match will be played between teams representing Jiribam and Kakching district at Main Stadium at 2.30 pm.

Most of the other matches will be played at practise field, Khuman Lampak.

Winners of each groups will reach the semi-finals before the two victorious teams face off four the State title.

U-17 Boys
As for the U-17 Boys competition, Springfield School (Thoubal) have been clubbed together with Jiribam's Jiribam Hr Sec School, Kakching district's JRD Pathseeker Academy and Noney district's Eclavia English School in the Group A while Mt Zion Sr Secondary School (Senapati), Reliance Academy (Imphal East), Ukhrul Public School (Ukhrul) and Pretty Lamb Institute (Tamenglong) have been clustered in Group B.Kamjong H School (Kamjong district), Emanuel School (Chandel), SNGC Memorial E School (Kangpokpi) and HM English School (Churachandpur) are drawn in the Group C and Little Master English Higher Secondary School (IW), VMH School (Tengnoupal district), Taithu Govt H School (Pherzawl) and Thinungei Phubala H School (Bishnupur) have been clubbed in Group D.The opening match of the tournament will be held at 2.30 pm between teams representing Noney and Thoubal districts at practise field.
