24th Governor's Polo Tourney Big wins for MPSC-C, Khurai Polo Club

Imphal, March 05 2014 : MPSC-C and Khurai Polo Club registered big wins in the 24th Governor's Cup Invitation Polo Tournament today.

In the first match of the day, MPSC-C brushed aside Meiraba Polo Club by an impressive margin of 6 goals to 3 .

The police team took an early lead of 3 goals to one in the 1st chukker, when N Nongpoknganba sounded the board twice and M Vivekanda added one.

In reply, K Romeo reduced the margin banging home the ball for Meiraba Polo Club.

It was the police team all the way in the 2nd chukker with S Abungcha scoring twice with Meiraba PC unable to score.

With a lead of 5 goals to one, MPSC-C took the field in the 3rd chukker in a positive frame of mind and S Abungcha was at it again when he sounded the board.

For Meiraba PC K Romeo was on target, but by then the police team had already taken the lead by a margin of 6 goals to two.

In the fourth chukker, Th Nanao found the target for Meiraba, but by then it was a little late and too little.

In the second match of the day, Khurai Polo Club thrashed a hapless, Ibudhou Thangjing PC, by 12 goals to one.

T Roshan, L Thomson, L Ojit and P Ojit scored thrice each while the consolation goal for Ibudhou Thangjing PC came from S Arunkumar in the 2nd chukker.
