State League matches end in goalless draws

Imphal, October 03 2014 : The State League matches between United Sports Association (USA), Khurai and Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam and Tiddim Road Unique Gammy Players Union (TRUGPU), Nambol against Nambul Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO), Nambul Mapal ended in goalless draws after the teams in both the matches failed to break the deadlocks in regulation time in the ongoing 9th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of MLA Khumukcham Joykishan Singh today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

The first match between USA and AIM started strongly with both teams not giving an inch to each other in the entire 90 minutes of a keenly contested match and ended goalless.

USA's L Milan was yellow carded for a foul committed on AIM's James.

The second match between TRUGPU and NACO began on a positive note with both teams putting their best foot forward to secure a win.

NACO created many opportunities but all their attempts were defeated by the TRUGPU defenders.

After a barren first half, the two teams went on the offensive in the second half but poor finishing did them in with neither team able to break the deadlock in regulation time.
