SCY shines in SAIPO final

Imphal, June 04 2014: SCY Yumnam Khunou ousted SSC Sekta by 3-1 goals in the final match of the 3rd SAIPO Cup 2014 played at the Heikak Mapal, Keibi ground of SAIPO today.

Tomba of the winning team SCY scored 2 goals in the 7th and 52nd minute.

Team mate Pritam Kumar contributed 1 more goal in the 51st minute.

The lone goal of SSC was scored by Muten in the 58th minute.

Robin Jewellers and PJPC Pukhao Khaba played for third place.

However, Robin Jewellers won the match by 6-3 goals.

Ratan of Robin Jewellers scored 2 goals in the 3rd and 4th minute.

Later on, team mate Telheiba contributed 2 goals in the 16th and 23rd minute.

As the match went on, team mate Khana and Poireiton also added one goal each in the 22nd and 48th minute.

Despite losing match, Naoba of PJPC managed to score one goal in the 9th minute and team mate N.Raju contributed 2 goals in the 10th and 12th minute.

After the matches, a sum of Rs.20,000 along with a trophy was handed over to winning team SCY and Rs.15,000 along with a trophy to the runners' up team.

Robin Jewellers was awarded an amount of Rs.5,000 with a trophy for third place.

H.Tomba of SCY was awarded best player.

Best defender award went to Y.Inaobi of SSC.

.ORomtan of SAIPO-A was honoured with top scorer award for scoring 16 goals in the tournament.

.LSurag Singh of SAIPO-B bagged the best promising player award while A.Ominjit of SAIPO-B bagged the best goal keeper award.

CHYUC Chalou was awarded best discipline team of the tournament.
