2nd Sangai Trophy : IEVFA thrash CVFA 6-0, TBSA thump UVSA

Imphal, April 02 2018: IEVFA thrashed CVFA 6-0, TBSFA edge past UVSA by 2-1 margin in the Group A league matches of The 2nd Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Tournament 2018 organised by United Veteran Football Association Manipur at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

A total of 19 teams clubbed into 4 groups are vying for top honours in this tournament.

Uttam of TBSFA shone in the game to hit a brace in the 16th and the 39th minute of the match and gave TBSFA a thumping 2-0 victory in a Group A league match.

The second Group A league match was more entertaining as IEVFA ran riot over the Lilong side to notch up an emphatic 6-0 victory.

IEVFA started the game with a bang clinching the opener in the very first minute through W Badal.

Surprised by the early lead CVFA kept their citadel intact for a while until Badal chipped in his second gaol in the 13 th minute and made it 2-0 in favour of his team.

It was then show off strength for the Imphal East side as their players took their turns to pump in 4 more goals in the latter proceeding.

The lead was further extended in the 15 th minute when E Premjit pushed forward too deep into rivals half and banged in a clinical shot.

IEVFA wrapped the first half with a 3-0 lead.

N Sanjoy, T Ranjit and T Sarat then went on after the break to score one goal each in the 42nd , 58th and during the additional time (60+2 minute) respectively and completed the 6-0 rout of the Lilong side.
