Guruaribam Arosemit finishes top at 4th U-15 Rapid Chess tourney

Guruaribam Arosemit Sharma of Shamasakhi High School emerged champion of the 4th U-15 Rapid Chess Tournament organised by Salai Chess Academy at its office at Uripok Huidrom Leikai.
Arosemit clinched the title with a total of 6 points in the tournament which was organised in the Swiss League System for 6 round.
Kshetrimayum Aimson (5 pts) of St Joseph's Hr Secondary School, Shishu Nistha Niketan's Jalesh Thoudam (4 pts), Laishram Nelson (4 pts) of St Patrick's English School and Shishu Nistha Niketan's Dayananda Thoudam (4 pts) finished second, third, fourth and fifth respectively .
In the U-10 boys category, Khuman Einstein Maibam of St Joseph's Hr Secondary School; Lemba Sougaijam of Heritage Convent and Laishram Tidison Meetei of Tiny Tot's School secured 3.5, 3 and 2.5 points respectively to finish first, second and third while Nadia Sougaijam of Heritage Convent scored 3.5 points to finish first in U-10 girls category.
The top five players and top three players of U-10 boy and U-10 girl categories were feted with cash prizes and trophies said a press release of Salai Chess Academy.
Altogether 19 players including 5 ratted players from different schools took part in the event, the release continued.
