8th Cheengkhu Premier Cup : Chumbang FC, Lambung YCC cruise into quarter finals

Imphal, July 31 2019: Lambung Youth Cultural Club (LYCC) and Chumbang FC secured huge wins today to made themselves into the quarter final of the ongoing 8th Cheengkhu Premier Cup, organised by Cheengkhu Youth Club.

In the first pre-quarter final match of the tournament, LYCC were trailing by a narrow 1 goal margin to Riverlane Youth Club but made an unbelievable comeback with SW Moshimla leading the attack to wrap up the game 3-1 and book the last 8 round berth.

Calwar scored in the 34th minute to hand Riverlane YC a 1-0 lead in the first half but ST Mothawar drew level in the 43rd minute for LYCC before WS Moshimla overturned the lead in the 48th minute.

LYCC managed to hold off Riverlane's effort to draw level in the latter part of the game and to their surprise WS Moshimla who was up at the front threatening the Riverlane YC's defence line on multiple occasion rounded off the scoring in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile in the second pre-quarter final clash, Chumbang FC which thrashed Chandel Christian in their previous fixture by 8-0 goals continued their fine form to romp their way into the quarter final with a 7-0 thrashing of Kapaam Development Club (KDC).

Winkle did the star turn in this one sided match for Chumbang FC as he netted 5 goals alone including the opener (2', 39', 44', 62', 79') while his team mate Sungrim scored twice (15', 51') to complete the 7-0 rout of their rivals.

Challong FC will meet Liwa Sarei which got a bye, in the third pre-quarter final match tomorrow at 12.30 pm before Ziontlang take on L Changning YCC in the next pre-quarter final match latter at 2.30 pm .
