KV thrash MV 6-1, SAV defeat LAV 3-1 in Sadar Hills District Veteran Sports Meet

Kangpokpi, February 28 2019: Maintaining its unbeaten record, Kanggui Veteran had a glittering 6-1 win over Motbung Veteran in the second match of the ongoing 6th Sadar Hills District veteran Sports Meet 2019 played at M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs today.

The incessant rainfall since the past two days in Kangpokpi area has deteriorated the already weaken M Thomas Ground but it failed to disrupt the spirit of veteran players and displayed awestruck performance in the mud-spattered ground under the rainfall during the match.

Kanggui Veteran, established by Kangpokpi Town Committee in its debut in the tournament, had already registered two wins including today's win over Motbung Veteran earning six points in two matches and became the first team to secure a berth in the knockout round from Pool-D.Seimang hattrick in the 17th , 20th and 39th minutes with Paaji Hangshing strike in the 53rd and Jangngam Baite double in the 57th and 59th minutes gave Kanggui Veteran an easy win over Motbung Veteran who pulled back a goal through Hentinlam in the 25th minute.

In the second match, Leikot Area Veteran, despite of an early goal in the 18th minute through its striker Helun, conceded defeat in its first match of the tournament at the hand of Saitu Area Veteran who had a dramatic comeback to win the game 3-1.Paojangam found the equalizer in the 36th minute and Henminthang added another two goals in the 39th and 44th minutes for Saitu Area Veteran to win over Leikot Area Veteran.

Sapormeina Area Veteran will play with Twilongkun Area Veteran in the first match tomorrow at 12 noon while Vengthah Veteran Kangpokpi will face Sadar Hills Gorkha Veteran in the second match at 1.30 pm.

J Songtun Area Veteran will meet IB Area Veteran in the third match at 3 pm .
