KHSC boys, TWC girls seal hockey titles

Imphal, December 31 2021: KHSC clinched the boys' title as TWC won the girls' crown in the 1st State Level Akoijam (Nupamacha) Singh Memorial U-14 Boys & Girls Hockey Tournament 2021 organised by Taobungkhok Welfare Club in collaboration with Manipur Hockey and Hockey Unit Imphal West.

KHSC outplayed YCCIC 5-2 in the final of the boys' competition on Friday.

The KHSC boys started off with a 5th-minute opener from Ksh Borish Singh and claimed their second goal in the 22nd minute before Borish scored his second goal in the 34th minute to triple the lead.

KHSC further stretched their lead in the 44th minute through Thoiba Meitei as M Shersana gave YCCIC their first goal in the 45th minute.

YCCIC scored their second goal in the 51st minute through M Shersana, his second goal, before L Max Singh wrapped the victory for KHSC with a goal in the 55th minute.

On the other hand, TWC pulled off a 4-2 penalty shootout win over MEIRAA after the two sides locked in a goalless stalemate.

In the shootout, K Sumila, Jerina Chongtham, Lanchenbi T and Ng Rupashini all converted their attempts to help TWC take the girls' crown.
