IW 1st Div League : SCK to clash with YWC-L for top honour

SCK, Kodompokpi will clash with YWC, Langthabal for the ultimate title of the ongoing L Sangita Devi Memorial 1st Division Football Tournament on January 2 at 2pm while GC-CRPF will meet YWC, Malom in a relegation battle.
WAFA, Wangoi clinched a 4-2 win over YAC in the last Group B league match of the tournament today while YWC, Langthabal hammered YWC, Malom 6-0 to finish as Group B leaders.
The group B league match was a very crucial game as either WAFA or YAC could have become Group winners on the condition that YWC-L suffer defeat in the hand of YWC-Malom.
WAFA and YAC began the game in a bright note making a series of runs and interceptions and settled the first in a 1-1 draw.
YAC's Naocha was first to opened up the scoring in the 24th minute and the equaliser for WAFA came in two minutes latter with star of the day Jiban taking the shot before striking two more goals in the second half.
Khaingampao gave YAC the lead again when he found the net in the 46th minute but WAFA fought back again to restore parity in the 52nd minute through Jiban who also broke the deadlock with his third goal three minutes latter and made it 3-2.The Wangoi side continued to press the Yaiskul side and to their delight, S Michael was able to grab a goal in the 60th minute and sealed the game 4-2.Meanwhile in the last Group B league match of the tournament, YWC Langthabal flexed their muscle and proved their superiority over YWC, Malom securing an emphatic 6-0 win and ultimately emerged Group winners.
It was clearly a whitewash as YWC-L dominated the game right from the beginning with Ng Pacha opening up the account in the 21st minute.
N Roshan then doubled the lead in the 24th minute with a superbly taken shot while Sadananda made it 3-0 with a drilling shot in the 33rd minute.
YWC-L carried on their raid despite the huge lead and it was in the 40th minute that Shantikumar had the fourth goal for the team.
Sadananda was at it again when he found the net in the 52nd minute to post an unassailable lead past the Malom side while Shivsa fired in the last goal three minutes latter.
