1st Heibok 1-20 Cricket Tournament : REYS overwhelm SSU Singjamei, YWC beat AL-AMEEN by 29 runs

Tournament favourites, REYS, Nagamapal produced yet another splendid performance today as they romped to an eight-wicket victory in their last league match of the 1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club at Langthabal Public Ground under the supervision of Manipur Cricket Association.
The day also witnessed YWC, Langthabal secure a 29 run victory over AL-AMEEN to qualify for the last 8 stage.
The first match of the day saw SSU win the toss and entered the field to bat first.
They were made to regret their decision to bat first as Jayanta of the Nagamapal side crushed their dream with a four-wicket haul in the first inning.
SSU slumped to a meagre 65 runs for 7 in 20 Overs with Amitra being the highest scorer making 15 runs in 25 balls.
Other batsmen who came out with high expectation had to return back to the pavilion with single digit runs.
Bunny, Deepu, Babloo and Devan contributed a total of 17 runs in this inning.
Robertson, Superjit and Sanjit of REYS also claimed one wicket each in the first inning while maintaining perfect economies.
It was an easy chase for REYS as they reached the target in 10 overs with 2 wicket down.
Mintuchandra hit 20 runs off 20 balls while Jayanta scored 21 off 14 balls in the chase.
Alai also contributed 16 runs in 18 balls in this inning.
Rohit of SSU dismissed the two wickets in 3.5 overs offering 18 runs.
Jayanta of REYS was named man of the match.
In the last league match of the tournament, YWC Langthabal, who won the toss and elected to bat first produced an immense batting performance racking up 158 runs for 9 in 20 overs.
Prakashmani blasted off 59 runs in 44 balls in this inning while Prafullomani hit 34 in 28 balls.
Bingson also scored 26 runs in 22 balls in this first inning.
Sameer of AL-AMEEN picked 3 wickets in the first inning while Habibullah and Abdullah claimed 2 wickets each.
The second inning looked promising in the beginning as Abdullah hit half century (55 off 39 balls) and Basid hammered 41 off 49 balls but the latter batsmen were not effective to go down at 129 for 7 in 20 overs handing the Langthabal side the quarter final berth.
Sameer gave 18 runs in this chase.
The league stage of the tournament ended today and the quarter final round will begin from February 2 .
REYS will face FORCE next in the first quarter final match at 9 am while BLUE HAWK will play PTRC in the second quarter final match at 12.30 pm the same day.
