MNCA announces teams for Ranji Trophy, Vijay Merchant Trophy

The Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) has announced players short-listed to represent Manipur in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22, Vijay Merchant Trophy 2021-22.In all, 20 players and 5 reserve players were named for the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 to be held at Chennai from January 13.The selected players, as per a notification issued today, are Yumnam Karnajit (Model Club), Nitesh Sedai (CHAMP), Narsingh Yadav (team captain : CYCLONE), Meitankeishangbam Langlonyamba (MODEL Club), Ngariyanbam Johnson (PTRC), Bonny Chingangbam (CHAMP), Wakambam Samson (BLUE HAWK), Chabungbam Ishwarjit (RUL), Sagatpam Jayanta (REYS), Muhammed Al Bashid (Al-Ameen), Kangabam Priyojit (TRAU), Longjam Ronald Meitei (CYCLONE), Bishworjit Konthoujam (vice captain: PTRC), Kabrambam Homendro (CYCLONE), Raj Kumar Rex (PTRC), Thokchom Kishan (RUL), Yumnam Sheiteendra (KCC), L Kishan Singha (CYCLONE), Lamabam Ajay (CRAU) and Thomas Moirangthem (CHAMP).
The athletes named in the reserve list are Md Sultan Karim of CHAMP, Pukhrambam Prafullomani of TRAU, Thokchom Santosh of PCC, Khangembam Bimol of CRAU and Gotimayum Mangi Sharma WYC.
Meanwhile, the players named in the U-16 team for Vijay Merchant Trophy to be held at Agartala from January 9 are Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (Captain YWC-Langthabal), Max Warokpam (PCC), Palungbam Manas Bose (BLUE HAWK), Albert Sorokhaibam (vice captain : YWC-Langthabal), Aribam Ronald Sharma (CYCLONE), Boocker Kangujam (KCDO), Zamir Khan (RCA), Chirom Stephen (MODEL), Khumanthem Prakash (CRAU), Mairembam Lucky (PCC), Ningthoujam Rahulkumar (YUCC), Reolin Oinam (SHADOW), Seram Robinson (YWC-L), Sorokhaibam Dailish Singh (YWC-L), Tamarland Pheiroijam (PTRC), Menson Nongmaithem (PCC), Chingakham Nongdamba (PTRC), Suraj Meisnam (CYCLONE), Kshetrimayum Rishi (OSCAR) and Naorem Lann (OSCAR).
The support staff for the team include coaches Namoijam Lokeshor and Pheiroijam Robindro; physiotherapists Pinky Maibam and Shanglakpam Bhabananda Sharma; trainer Toijam Bikenson and manager Irengbam Ibobi.
The team (U-16 team) will leave Imphal for Agartala on January 3, the notification read.
