Sub-Junior Girls National Football C’ship: West Bengal, Maharashtra sail into quarter finals

West Bengal and Maharashtra defeated their respective rivals to sail into the quarter finals of the ongoing Sub-junior Girls National Football Championship 2017 organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the supervision of All India Football Federation today at District Sports Complex, Kodompokpi .
In the fourth day of the championship, Bihar blanked Uttarakhand 3-0 in a group F league match played at 8 am.
Maharashtra also beat Kerala with the same scoreline in a group G league match played at 11 am to enter the quarter finals .
The group E match between West Bengal and Mizoram ended in a goalless draw.
But West Bengal’s 4-3 victory against Mizoram in the previous leg gave them the quarter final berth .
Puducherry who are in the same group failed to arrive for the championship which meant that the two teams had to clash twice .
In the first league match of the day, Bihar dominated Uttarakhand from the beginning.
Kajal Kumari’s hat-trick handed Bihar the much needed 3-0 win against Uttarakhand .
Kajal scored the three in the 2nd, 8th and 57th minute of the match .
In the second match, Maharashtra also pumped in 3 goals against Kerala to emerge group winners.
Sakhi Hiwale struck the opener early in the 3rd minute to take the lead .
Gaisundaram and Saisankhe scored one each in the 65th and 81st minute of the match to complete the 3-0 rout.
