WYLCO emerge champions of 7th WYLCO Cup Water Polo Championship

Imphal, October 27 2019: Hosts WYLCO defeated CSC, Ningthem Pukhri Mapal by 9-7 goals in a keenly contested final match today to win the title of the 7th WYLCO CUP Water Polo Championship-2019 held at Shyam Pukhri, Kongba Keithel.

Sagar produced a stand out performance to add four goals for WYLCO today in the final match while his compatriots, Ng Dhanajit, Vivek, Priyobarta, L Lenin and Th Goldson managed a goal each to ensure the 9-7 victory.

On the other hand, CSC which managed two of two wins earlier in the three team championship scored 7 goals in the final match through H Bikram (2), K Amarjit (2), Telheiba (1) and Alex (2) in a losing cause.

Winners, WYLCO were feted with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy while runners up received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 7,000 .

Third placed, KYO were also encouraged with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 .

Best coach, H Bikram of WYLCO; best promising player, KYO's Moirangthem Thouba; best goalkeeper, Th Bharat of WYLCO; highest goal scorer in the final match, Sagar Moirangthem of WYLCO; best referee, Naobi and best manager, Bocha of CSC were also honoured with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 each.
