Nemcha Kipgen inaugurates Football Invitation Tourney

Kangpokpi, September 27 2017: Social Welfare and Cooperative Minister, Nemcha Kipgen opened the Football Invitation Tournament at D Phaihel village in Kangpokpi district today following the inauguration of Kuki Football Academy playground .

The inauguration of the playground cum Football Invitation Tournament was graced by Nemcha Kipgen as chief guest, Haokholal Hangshing Chairman ADC Sadar Hills as guest of honour and Lunseh Kipgen, IPS as president .

Haotinlen Vaiphei, chief of S Molnom attended the function as guest of honour at the playground inauguration.

ADC Sadar Hills vice-chairman, Thangjakam Misao and executive member, Lunthang Haokip also attended the function apart from various CSO leaders and local bodies .

Haotinlen Vaiphei, chief of S Molnom inaugurated the Kuki Football Academy playground by hoisting the flag in the presence of other dignitaries while Social Welfare Minister, Nemcha Kipgen declared the Football Invitation Tournament open by cutting a ribbon .

Nemcha Kipgen appreciated the D Phaihel village chief and villagers including the youth of the area for their efforts in setting up the magnificent football playground in the district despite the small population .

She said that self-determination, aspiration for mutual understanding and love for peace and harmony will obviously lead to development and growth.

Haokholal Hangshing, Lunseh Kipgen, Haotinlen Vaiphei also appreciated the commendable initiatives of D Phaihel village chief and the collective efforts of the villagers .

D Phaihel Youth Club submitted a memorandum each to Nemcha Kipgen, Haokholal Hangshing and Lunseh Kipgen demanding construction of youth office and other requirements for the office .

After the formal opening of the tournament, Kuki Football Academy and Damdei Football Club played a friendly match which ended in a goalless draw .

16 invited teams will take part in the tournament which will begin tomorrow till October 6.The tournament will be on knock out basis .

Maohing Youth Club and Milui Football Club will face each other in the first match tomorrow at 3.30 pm while Leimakhong Youth Club will take on Champhai Area in the second match at 6 pm.
