Thoubal, December 26 2014 : Thangjam Somorendro Singh Memorial five boys-a-side under 14 football tournament began today at Global Club Playground, Thoubal Kiyam Leikai.

The opening ceremony was graced by Parliamentary secretary MI and IPR K Meghachandra, Global Club president Ch Manao Sharma, TMC Ward No.15 councillor L Bhubon and Ward No.16 councillor Th Sundari Devi attended as presidential members.

Altogether 16 different teams are participating in the tournament.

In today's opening match, Global Club (GC) defeated KSWTDA, Amurijam by a margin of 3 goals to one.

KSWTDA's jersey no.10 slotted in the opening goal for his side in the 10th minute while GC's jersey no.21 slammed three goals to register a conving 3-1 win against KSWTDA.

Tomorrow, SEVA, Sabantongba will be played against GFA-B, Bamon Leirak at 9 am, GB-B, Kiyam will clash with YDA, Haokha at 1 pm and WEYA, Waithou will meet GFA-A, Bamon Leirak at 3.30 pm.
