Sirti Football Club snatches Chandel DSA League Title

Chandel, August 26 2015:
Sirti Football Club (SFC) on Wednesday was crowned the Champion of the Chandel District Sports League 2015 defeating United Football Club (UFC) 1-0 in an interesting final encounter match played at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School Ground.
A closing function was held attended by MDC of 12 District Headquarters Ts Willingson Anal; DY Holngam, MDC of 19 Toupokpi and KT Hari, MDC of 20 Wangkhera graced the function as Chief Guest and Guests of honours respectively.
The league was organised by DSA Chandel from 21 July and 22 clubs participated in tournament.

Ng Konthang (No 16) scored the winning goal in the 60th minute of the game.
Angningjoy (No 2) of SFC and Lein (No 19) of UFC were booked yellow cards in the 26th and 37th minute respectively.
Individual award winning players of the league were Thangtinlein for Top scorer; Ts Joanan for best mid field; Lungshim for best defender; Kalu for best goal keeper; Sr Kagaly for best player; Emmanuel for promising player and DB.
Khumshot Lamkang for best team manager.
LYCC bagged the best team title of the league.
DSA Chandel also honoured few outstanding sportspersons of the district including TH Joyshing Monsang as PFI referee, Achung Aimol for successful selection to the Indian World Cup team under 17; Henry Monsang for his achievement to take part in the I-league, MK Candid Maring AFC coach.
While speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Ts Willingson Anal highlighted various problems faced by sportspersons of the district and said the problem would soon be solved as DSA officials with their vision set.
The DSA is eager to develop teams, clubs to play in the right way by creating environment with bigger scope for players, he said.
"They are trying to identify talents within the players and nurture it, be it football, volleyball, basketball and badminton" he said and assured development of sports programme in the district with a special focus by team of politicians.
He requested all those financially sound to contribute and encourage the youths as youths are the future he added.
He also donated a sum of Rs 20000 to the organisers.
Today's match was officiated by K Brojen as the centre referee.
M Nimai and Arun Kumar officiated as assistant referee while Tharchung as reserved referee.
