35th Governor's Cup Invitation Polo Tournament begins

Imphal, February 26 2023: The 35th edition of Governor's Cup Invitation Polo Tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association kicked off today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

The opening match of the 10-team knockout tournament saw Manipur Police Sports Club-B see off Tentha Polo Club by 6-2 goals.

T Pradeepkumar scored the most three goals in MPSC-B's victory as O Suresh, H Abung and Th Romen added a goal each.

Both the teams were evenly poised and locked at 1-1 in the opening chukker with P Bikash of Tentha PC cancelling out Pradeepkumar's goal for MPSC-B .

Pradeepkumar and H Abung added a goal each in the following chukker to make it 3-1 at halfway time before Th Romen further extended the lead to 4-1 in the third chukker.

Pradeepkumar scored his third just moments into the final chukker and I Rahul pulled back a goal for Tentha Polo Club in the fourth minute before O Suresh hit the final goal for MPSC-B in the last minute.
